Flower, flashlight, and sleep

Hello, again! I was playing around with three dice that had pictures on them, and I decided to write some stories based on those pictures. Hope you enjoy! (I was originally writing a very plain story, but it turned into an entire life lesson. I also think I’ll make a mini-series off of the topic dice. :D)

Flower, flashlight, sleep

The silence that blanketed me was normal, now. I could only hear the soft humming in the distance and my thoughts ringing in my head. And though I was left undisturbed, I was also left alone, with no one to talk to.

The days went by, and I could feel the seasons changing. Very soon, it became winter. The chill of the air made my petals begin to wilt. I hadn’t been cared for for a while now, and I wasn’t sure how long I could go. No one had been there to change my soil or water, my soul. I felt empty inside and soon became bitter. Nobody cared about me. I’d been abandoned. There was no reason to live.

As I sat around in the frosted air, I felt the yearly desire to go to sleep, but this time, I felt no hope that I would ever wake up again.

The world around me slowly went dark, and with one more breath of air, I faded away.

It must’ve been sometime later when suddenly, a bright beam of blinding light abruptly woke me from my slumber. I heard a click-click of boots against the concrete floor. The light was coming closer. Light! Light! I leaned towards it! I longed for the comfort of this light.

Finally, it came to me. Wielding the glorious light was a human! When the human saw me, he quickly hurried over.

“How are you still alive? This warehouse has been abandoned for years!” he gasped.

Gently, he cupped my cracked vase in his warm hands, and with that, he took me away from my isolated prison.

A short time later, and a strange ride in a moving, metal box with wheels, we had arrived at a small building. This building did not look intimidating, or constricting.

The kind man showed me around back to a very small shed. The shed had all sorts of tools hung up everywhere. After a quick glance, the man put me down and pulled out a handful of fresh soil from a bag!

Could it be? For me! I practically jumped in glee as he broke away my old, forsaken pile of dried dirt, and lumped the soil onto my roots! Not only did I receive a beautiful bundle of brown nutrients and gulps of water, but my savior had also tucked me into a shiny, ceramic pot!

I had never been this happy in my life! It felt as if the affectionate human had snatched a ball of sun rays from the sun and gifted them to me! Although the wind outside was racing, and the air was as bitter as egg whites, I was on top of the world.

While I was dancing with happiness, my rescuer brought me inside his den. After brushing off some of my foul, crusty filth, he set me next to some other happy happy flowers in a window.

After that, things started soaring sky-high. The season of winter briskly faded into spring, and I made friends with the flowers I shared a window with! I loved the man, my window, my friends, and most of all, my life. I felt very blessed to have such a cozy home and constant treatment of fresh soil and water.

I learned a big lesson during that time. I finally understood that life is like seasons. There may be bitter times like winter, and there may be amazing, comforting times like summer, but most of all, there’s always someone who knows and cares about you no matter what. Someone that is there to pick you up when you fall down, and change your soil and water you when you’re feeling alone. That wonderful person, for me, was the kind man. But for you humans, it’s God. The one who’s looking out for you above.

  1. Honey, this creation is a work of art that tells deep and heart felt emotions of All Creation. They say that plants thrive when the human tend to or talks to them. The fact is God made plants and humans to exchange life giving chemicals.
You are so talented at expressing feelings and describing situations and things so your readers can actually see it in their minds. Anyone can put words down on the paper, but you arrange them magically.
Please keep giving all of us stories to enjoy. You make dreams come true with your imagination. Thanks. Lu. Elmo
