Chapter One

Jessica Spencer was a shy girl. She had four siblings and loving parents.

Jessie’s hair was amber brown, short cut, and curly. She had short bangs swept to the side with strands of small loopy hair that dangled in front of her ears. Near the back a thin line of braided yarn streaked down. In the middle of her bangs were two mini purple dyed strands. She had freckles dotted, above her nose, and under her eyes. Her eyes were a beautiful color of sky blue, and her eyelashes curved gracefully.
Today she was wearing a frilly white blouse with light pink hearts laid out across it. She had a long skirt with hot pink, light pink, pink, and red splats spattered on it. She breathed out a deep sigh.
“We have to leave now,” Mr. Spencer handed Jessie her jacket, then picked up the coat rack and headed out the door. Jessie looked around the empty house then walked out.
When she got outside the air was crispy. The cold wind made it chillier. As she pulled on her coat she spotted a bright green figure dash away as soon as she took a glance. When she started walking towards her Dad’s minivan something stopped her cold. A mediocre rock rolled right in front of her. It was dirty white but something caught her eye. Engraved in the rock were the words, HELP ME!
Jessica stumbled back.
“Oh- no… they found them.”
